Spring Sneezing
By Stephanie Henson 2024 [email protected] @stepha_henson Twitter Word Count: 149 GIF image - A tree being shaken with a cloud of pollen coming out of it Lush trees are yellow tinged, like they are draped in gold dust, yet not from fairies. An eerie fog has cast over the atmosphere. With Mother Nature keeping careful watch. As winds whip and branches sway away the puffs . . . What emerges next is a powdery potion that projects particles into the air. Bees in a feeding frenzy, Feasting on power protein while providing plant to plant pollination that scatters allergens across the skies. Pollen monster clouds form but not your typical storm. The leaves finger paint on nature's canvas. The sensation tickles my nose, but no one is laughing. Twitching and itching, I feel it coming on. The season for suffering begins— Wheezing like a fire breathing dragon. Invading my senses until all I can do is . . . Ah Ah Ah Achoo Spring sneezing Nose running Tissues wiping Tears falling What might cure this ill? A double dose of Benadryl! https://tenor.com/view/pollen-spring-tree-trees-tree-pollen-gif-13947032049459290070

Star in My Yard
By Stephanie Henson Word Count - 137 The change in seasons calls action on this day. Mother Earth is the Director of the show. As Spring transforms into costumes of color, the back deck is my amphitheater. Where I perform art in motion, in an open air outdoor pavilion where scenic sets surround. The spotlight of the sun shines down on me, signaling that I’m ready for my close up, to entertain the animals! An audience of furry friends to watch imaginative recitals and concerts. Dazzling dance moves in the wind, fanning out my tutu as I twirl and whirl. Or I can sing silly songs in the rain while stomping boots to the beat. My world is a stage made of wood beams and staggered stairs. Where I can be whoever I want, in the company of nature– A star in my yard. Hi all!
It seems Amazon went live with "BeTween Now and Later" a bit early. But no worries. That just means you can order your copy TODAY on Amazon! Valentine’s Day Dance Moves
By Stephanie Henson 208 words @stepha_henson Twitter Valentine’s Day at school is always electric. The energy can be felt pulsating across desks, through the tapping feet of excited children. A sugar rush of crushes and notes of friendship. And the Valentine’s Day class dance has everyone excited . . . but not the new kid. He was skeptical about this beloved holiday. His heart was beating like a drum. Not only because he’s at a new school but because he’s not very cool. He stumbles across sentences and sidewalks. He trips over toes and shoes. He has two left feet! How can he possibly not make a fool of himself? Will anyone give him a chance at the dance? Sometimes it takes a leap of faith to land smoothly. Cards and candy are passed around the room. The dance will begin soon. Tummies flutter with nerves. As the new kid opens an especially sparkly card with a disco ball on the outside, he’s surprised at what’s on the inside. A note that says “save a dance for me.” From the most popular girl in class! Maybe this holiday isn’t so bad after all! All it takes is some confidence and convincing, for views to be less skewed. Cupid’s arrow has struck and his dance moves are now unstuck! I am pleased to announce that I signed a contract with the Alien Buddha Press for my second Children's Poetry collection.

Thrilled to finally announce that I’ve signed a contract with Buzgaga Books for a collection of SEL-based short stories that are meant to inspire, inform, empower & entertain kids. I’m so happy that my stories have found a supportive home.
